- Ash of Gods: The Way is the new sequel to Ash of Gods: Redemption
- Introduces new mechanics like deck building and more
- But most importantly, it builds on the original's earlier dark fantasy influences.
If you happened to play Ash of Gods: Redemption, the dark, narrative-driven tactical RPG that was released on mobile devices earlier this year, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear that the sequel is now available in stores! Ash of Gods: The Way is a bit of a departure from the series so far, but if you enjoyed the choice-based storytelling and action of the original, this is sure to please, so let’s get started!
As mentioned above, Ash of Gods: The Way is very similar to its predecessor. This includes the dark narrative, choice-based storytelling, and tactical RPG combat. But the only way it seems to differ is in the introduction of a deck-building element, which may turn off some longtime fans or attract newcomers, depending on your opinion.
Other than that, everything we covered in the original Ash of Gods seems to be true here. We haven't had a chance to get our hands on The Way yet, but you can check out the launch trailer below for a more in-depth look at the game!
This is the way
I think it’s interesting to see Ash of Gods: The Way expand into the RPG format by adding deck building mechanics. Of course, there have been a lot of comparisons to the story-driven, choice-based game The Banner Saga when it first released, but hopefully it’s not just a change for the sake of being different. But if you want to check it out for yourself, you can find Ash of Gods: The Way on Google Play today!
