If you attend, you'll get a first taste of the upcoming Arknights spin-off
- Arknights: Endfield will be presented to the public for the first time at Gamescom
- Although the game had a limited technical test, lucky fans in attendance can finally try it out
- Set in the same world as its predecessor, it brings action to the open-world RPG format with new tactical combat.
Arknights: Endfield, the next spin-off of the popular Arknights RPG, will be unveiled for the first time at the upcoming Gamescom trade show in Cologne, Germany. Previously, the game was only available for a limited-time technical test, but its Gamescom appearance will allow fans to finally get their hands on the upcoming title.
Arknights: Endfield is set in the same universe as its predecessor, but shifts the action from tower defense to the realm of real-time tactical combat. It also lets you explore a completely open world, not too dissimilar to games like MiHoyo's Genshin Impact.
Arknights has become a hugely successful franchise, with its own anime series and more. Endfield is set to further expand the world of Talos-II, where the original game is set, and if you’re at Gamescom later this month, you might be lucky enough to try it out.
Bigger and better
One could argue that the expansion of the Arknights brand into the open world is largely influenced by how MiHoYo popularized it with the release of Genshin Impact. Since that release, fans have been clamoring for bigger, better, and more open mobile games, with even AFK Arena going open world for its sequel AFK Journey.
We haven’t had a chance to play Arknights: Endfield yet, but we’ll be keeping a close eye on how this game is received by lucky fans at Gamescom.
