Annapurna has announced a partnership with Remedy Entertainment to co-produce and co-finance its development. Control 2as well as develop and produce Alan Wake and Control franchise for film, television and other audiovisual formats.
Remedy Entertainment will still publish Control 2 himself and is currently “full steam ahead” on the sequel. However, further information about the game is still some time away.
“We are thrilled to have Annapurna on board!” Remedy Entertainment creative director Mikael Kasurinen said Control franchise executive producer Juha Vainio said in a press release. “Annapurna's creative values align perfectly with ours, making them an inspiring partner for the journey ahead. We at Remedy are working on it Control 2 it's been looking amazing for a while now, and we think Annapurna is the perfect partner to work with as the game's development moves towards production and finally reaches the finish line.”
Creative director Sam Lake added, “I'm excited about the opportunity to expand this story (yes!) Alan Wake and building our entire Remedy Connected Universe into non-gaming environments and all of this in close collaboration, across games, movies, TV and other mediums, all at the same time as a unified vision. I believe that Annapurna is the perfect partner for us to make this dream come true.”
